I know that Mothers get a lot of the credit in a child’s life for the love and support that they give. I was lucky to get that from both parents, but I rarely see any posts about how much a father means in someone’s life and I just want to let you know how much I appreciate what you do for me.
I love you more than you will ever know. You are my comfort and my safe haven. You don’t always get the credit you deserve, and it may not always look like I appreciate what you do for me, but I do. I love you more than anything and I think you’re the greatest dad in the ENTIRE world. You are the kindest, most gentle soul and I hope that one day I can grow up with a heart just like yours.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of the things you’ve done for me. I am strong and independent with a caring heart because of you. I appreciate all of the softball games you sat through…even through the rain. I appreciate all of the homework you tried to help me with…even when I complained.
I’m thankful for everything you’ve given me, whether it was the Barbie doll you gave me on my 21st birthday or the money you saved for me to be able to afford college. The homeade chili you are so proud of and the backyard garden you work so hard for…. I love you for those things. I love you for everything.
I miss you everyday that I don’t see you.
I cry sometimes when I think about you being unhappy. That you won’t be able to do everything you want and life and maybe that it’s because of me. I feel sad that you are stressed with work and money and there is nothing I can do about it…
It hurts my heart so badly when you are sad. I wish that I could give you the world just as you have given it to me.
I woke up this morning with an unusual, strong, and emotional feeling of love and appreciation for you. I am crying uncontrollably as I write this. I know that this note is not nearly enough to show you how much I care. I just wanted you to know…
And I just want to make you proud.
I love you.
